At 1:48 pm CST on October 5, 2020, CivicPlus engineers discovered an issue with our authentication service.  Users were not able to log into CivicPlus products.  CivicPlus engineers immediately responded and were able to bring the service back online by 2:38 pm CST on October 5, 2020.

    • Outage Duration: 50 minutes
    • Root Cause:  The outage occurred because of a certificate renewal process failure on some backend pieces of the identity server.  This issue was further complicated by a concurrent series of DDoS attacks.
    • Further Actions:  The cause of the certificate renewal process failure has been fixed and the DC has made a number of BGP changes to limit the potential impact of a similar DDoS resulting in service interruption in general.
