At 2:22pm CST on December 2, 2020, CivicPlus engineers discovered an issue with our authentication service. Some, but not all users, were unable to log into CivicPlus products. CivicPlus engineers immediately responded and were able to bring the service back online by 2:37pm CST on December 2, 2020.
    • Outage Duration: 15 minutes (Some users were unable to access products during this time)

    • Root Cause: The outage occurred due to a bug with our identity server which resulted in a situation that required a platform restart.

    • Further Actions: The CivicPlus Platform team is upgrading the Identity Server and has completed Phase 1 of that project. Our Hosting and Security Team is currently migrating all of our clients who use custom identity providers on a case-by-case basis to move them to the new Authentication Service. At this time, no further work is planned for this issue as it will be resolved when everyone is on the new service. We will continue to monitor and respond to alerts as fast as possible to bring nodes back up if they go down.
