At 10:21 am CST on October 16, 2020, CivicPlus engineers discovered an issue with our authentication service. Users were not able to log into CivicPlus products. CivicPlus engineers immediately responded and were able to bring the service back online by 10:28 am CST on October 16, 2020.

Outage Duration: 7 minutes (Some users may have received an error somewhat before or after that depending on which node they where hitting)

Root Cause: The outage occurred due to a bug with our identity server which resulted in a situation that required a platform restart.
- Further Actions: The CivicPlus Platform team is upgrading the Identity Server and has completed Phase 1 of that project. It is not released to clients at this time but is scheduled to be released following the election window after November 11th. We will be working with our clients who use custom identity providers on a case-by-case basis to move them to the new Authentication Service. At this time, no further work is planned for this issue as it will be resolved when everyone is on the new service. We will continue to monitor and respond to alerts as fast as possible to bring nodes back up if they go down.
