CivicPlus Notifications Performance Issue - January 22, 2024
Incident Description
At 3:42 PM CST internal CivicPlus staff received reports that both internal and customer users were unable to load the CivicPlus Notifications user interface. A team of CivicPlus product engineers began investigating the issue at 3:50 PM CST and was able to uncover the root cause of the issue. The Notifications application returned to normal functionality at approximately 4:10 PM CST.Cause
During normal operations CivicPlus Engineers attempted to restart the CivicPlus Notifications application. A process error during the restart caused the Notifications Service UI to be temporarily unavailable.Resolution
CivicPlus engineers redeployed the application at 4:10 PM CST, at which time the CivicPlus Notifications application returned to normal expected functionality.Future Mitigation
Based on our learnings from this incident, system engineers have developed and distributed enhanced documentation and process controls to prevent this from occurring in the future.Issue Status: Resolved - no further updates should be expected.
